Living here

Our spacious independent living units – either villas or apartments, allow for independent living at one of our three campuses – Kings Langley, Wahroonga and Hornsby.

All our independent living villas and apartments are set in a garden or bushland setting and come equipped with modern appliances and amenities including en-suites. While the style of units varies across our villages our commitment of high quality living does not. Our Kings Langley Village has been recently rebuilt and refurbished, with brand new one-, two- and three-bedroom villas being added as well as one-bedroom apartments. At Wahroonga our two- and three-bedroom villas have integrated garages, whilst the two- and three-bedroom apartments all have their own generous balconies. We also have entry level one-bedroom units and bedsits at our Hornsby Village.

Our expansive grounds and facilities are well maintained and available to all our independent living residents. Although you can live as independently as you like we have staff on hand should you need help.

Both our Kings Langley and Wahroonga Villages are co-located with our residential aged care facilities. This is an ideal arrangement for couples when one partner requires a higher level of care than the other. Having one integrated residential aged care and retirement village ensures that all residents needs can be catered for and that when the time comes a seamless move can be made within the one campus.

Our independent living villages features:

  • Independent living villas with a choice of one, two or three bedrooms
  • Apartments with a choice of one or two bedrooms
  • Vehicle parking if required
  • Access to recreational activities
  • Campus bus shopping service
  • 24-hour emergency call system
  • Easy access to co-located residential aged care
  • Security
  • Onsite chapel and access to pastoral care
  • Located close to excellent medical care and local shops
  • Full maintenance of all common grounds and facilities

For added peace of mind our attentive staff is on hand when the need arises. Meals can be pre ordered from our onsite kitchens, where food is prepared fresh each day.

What fees and charges can I expect?

We operate on a Lease for Life arrangement whereby the property is leased from Adventist Aged care for an indefinite period. In other words, the resident decides when they wish to terminate the lease. There are no establishment costs such as stamp duty and estate agency fees. A maintenance fee based on village outgoings and applies to all units. This fee covers such items as rates, building insurance, internal and external maintenance, gardens and grounds and administration. The maintenance fee is levied monthly. The fee is determined at the signing of the contract and is linked to CPI. This ensures that residents are not subject to excessive, unwelcome increases in rental costs. Residents meet their own electricity and telephone costs. The savings in terms of rates, taxes and body corporate fees is considerable. Meals and other services can be supplied by prior arrangement.

Do I need to be of a specific faith to live at Adventist Aged Care?

No. We provide care for all, regardless of faith.

What happens when I need a higher level of care?

Existing Independent Living Unit residents are given preference should they wish to re-locate to either a supported accommodation hostel room or high level nursing home care.

What types of Independent Living Units do you have available?

We have single level villas and apartments at our Kings Langley and Wahroonga villages. We also have entry level apartments and bedsits at Hornsby.
